Krusinski Construction

Situation

Krusinski Construction had made an early start on the web, but by 2003, it was time for a re-design. The structure of their current site was resulting in poor search engine rankings and the overall look was getting outdated. The site was also sparse on content, with just a few listings of their projects. We knew by their portfolio of clients that this company had a lot to be proud of. This was perfect for us, a diamond in the rough, just waiting for a polish. You can view parts of the old web site at www.krusinski.com/old.

Challenge

Based on our review of the competition, we saw that we could conceivably make the new Krusinski.com the finest general contractor web site in the region. But we didn’t just want eye candy, we wanted to use real projects to show prospective clients why Krusinski had the expertise for their construction project. We also knew that Krusinski had struggled with a cumbersome content management system with their first site, so we needed the most frequently changing elements of the site to be easily maintainable by Krusinski staff.

Solution

We started with a clean, high-end design that put Krusinski-built building photography front and center. From the very start, this site is about walking-the-walk, about real, credible success stories. We used case studies broken down by category of client and used crisp photography whenever available. We pulled company news onto the home page because for a company in construction, you’re always either announcing a new client or a completion of a big project, both of which are great mentions for a marketing site. Finally, we built a custom content management system to control the database-driven case studies, news and other frequently changing information.

Results

Krusinski Construction is thrilled to have one of the finest web sites in their industry, and to have the ability to keep in fresh through their content management system. Nothing is more fulfilling for a web development firm than a referral from a pleased client. Krusinski’s recommendations have led to us receiving the opportunity to redesign The Citadel Group and Bison Gear and Engineering.
