Situation

Sentry Seasonings, based in Elmhurst, Illinois, has over 50 years of experience in developing and manufacturing seasonings for hundreds of different food products we taste in restaurants and grocery stores every day. Looking at the popularity of e-commerce Sentry’s management saw an opportunity to reach out to smaller butcher shops, delis, restaurants and hobbyists with their own line of high quality “off-the-shelf” seasoning packets that could be used to create delicious food products in smaller quantities than Sentry’s traditional clientele who buy in bulk.

Challenge

One of Distant Horizon’s Chicagoland competitors recommended going through a several month process of re-branding, custom design and content creation. Distant Horizon saw this situation more clearly as a grassroots entrepreneurial effort within a mature company…an opportunity that has to be seized on and executed quickly…before a distraction in the traditional business can kill the dream.

Solution

The new web site features all of the content of their old corporate web site along with a full shopping cart system. Now, as Sentry develops their new line of off-the-shelf spices they can quickly add them to the web site themselves and begin selling immediately.
